Samba Samba magic. Barca put in an appearance at the Chafford Arena today wearing the Aveley colours. After the last gasp winner from Aveley in their clash the previous week to win 3-2, Brentwood were fired up to put the football records straight. Shame the Guinness World of Records didn’t turn-up as Aveley posted their biggest league win in their history. Quickly off the mark Aveley raced to a 4-0 lead at half-time despite the ref ignoring two very decent shouts for Aveley penalties. SpecSavers were interested in sponsoring him after a defender sliding ten yards with feet raised catching an Aveley player closing in on goal. Mancini would have been pulling his hair out again at the inconsistency of refs!
In the second half Brentwood rallied and nullified the Aveley attack although couldn’t manufacture any chances. 20 minutes into the second half Aveley found an extra effort and a further 4 goals without reply.
