Match Report for 13/11/2011

Barns Sports 3  Aveley 4

It was a game of two halves Jeff, Phil Neal could be heard to scream at Sanders Drapers School today.

After taking a 1-0 lead after 10 minutes, Aveley appeared to have weathered a storm, literally, as the wind was going on 80mph in their faces.  However, this spurred Barns Sports into a further effect to bombard the Aveley penalty area resulting in 3 corners being scored from in ten minutes of play, one direct by the corner taker.  All looked lost when a penalty was awarded for a WWE style tackle but the Barns Sports’ player slammed it against the crossbar and it was cleared to safety.  Aveley kept the deficit the same till the half time whistle.

Half time saw calmness in the Aveley camp as they were confident that their skilful football (not in attendance in the first half) would pull them through.  All didn’t at first go to plan.  Although Barns created zilch, Aveley were thwarted by Barns Sports all- out defence.  20 minutes into the second half Aveley scored. Total football turned up at long last.  Then within another ten minutes 2 more had been scored – all four Aveley goals scored by wonder boy Wyatt.  For the last ten minutes Aveley conserved their energy sniffing out any forays into their half with the Aveley keeper only touching the ball three times in the second half.

Next match versus Cougars.  Aveley move up to third, with Cougars one point ahead in 2nd place.  Sky Sports offered £500 to televise but it was felt to be insulting so supporters need to be at Harold Wood Park at 1pm for kick off.
