Match Report – 18th December - Gidea Park 5 Aveley 2
Winter finally arrived in Romford today. Aveley boosted by their win the previous week started out the blocks quickest but conceded a goal on the break. Impressively Aveley weren’t knocked from their stride and served up flowing attacking football and went into a 2-1 lead. Then the heavens opened with heavy snow falling causing very poor visibility. With the wind in their faces Aveley’s eyes were blinded to one attack from Gidea Park with them equalising. 2-2 at half-time.
Being unbeaten all season Gidea Park don’t do draws. They don’t do defeats either! The match reporter has had sudden selective amnesia apart from the ref telling him it was 5-2 at full time. The only comfort is the chance to rectify this travesty of a result in January 2012.
